Getting hold of Karthi even for a minute seems to be one helluva task these days. The Siruthai star is extremely busy handing out invitations, rushing through all the last minute shopping and overseeing the arrangements for his impending wedding to Ranjini, on July 3, in his hometown Coimbatore.
There is madness out here. Everyone in the family is running around to ensure that all goes well at the wedding," says Karthi.
Prod the actor about reports on the Internet that he will fly to Tahiti Islands for his honeymoon and he shrugs it off nonchalantly. "I'm not going to any island. In fact, we are so busy with the arrangements for the wedding that we are yet to decide where to head for our honeymoon. I'm off to Coimbatore tonight and will host a high profile reception on July 7, in Chennai, for my friends in the industry."
Amidst all the frenzy, Karthi ensures that he finds quality time with his fiancee — in long-drawn telephone conversations. "I'm always on the phone these days and once I start talking to Ranjini, I don't attend other calls," says the actor. So is he all set to become a good husband? "Well, I have to. I will try to be a good husband," he says.
And while he is yet to plan a honeymoon, what he is sure of is taking a month's break from work, immediately after the wedding. "I will resume shooting for my film Saguni at the end of July. The film, directed by debutant Sankar Dayal, is a satire that takes on present-day society and is shaping up well. Talks for another film with Anushka are on, but nothing's confirmed yet."
Will marriage affect his choice of films? "Not at all! I have drawn a clear line between my personal and professional life. I've always been a fun-loving guy and my films will always have some humour. It will continue to be the same," says Karthi.
